I am a first-year PhD student exploring evidence-based mental health intervention for school adolescents in low and middle-income countries, particularly in Bangladesh. My PhD focuses on the feasibility of the modular approach to therapy for children with anxiety, depression, trauma or conduct problems (MATCH-ADTC) in Bangladesh, funded by the Prime Minister Fellowship (PMF) of Bangladesh.
Before coming to Cambridge University, I completed my Master’s and Bachelor’s successfully in Public Health and Informatics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. In my Masters, I documented the prevalence of common mental health problems and their associated risk factors in Bangladesh’s urban, semi-urban and rural adolescents using a mixed-method approach. As of today, I have been awarded different national and international research grants, such as the Bloomberg Initiative grant from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA. Besides, I have experience working as a Senior Research Officer, Researcher and Research Assistant at different reputed research organizations namely BSMMU (Bangladesh), icddr,b, UNESCO and the Global Burden of Disease Collaborator Network. As a young scientist from Bangladesh, I participated in the 72nd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting dedicated to Physiology/Medicine in 2023 in Germany.
