About me and my Research

I am a psychiatrist based in Ghana with additional training in child and adolescent mental health, and currently a PhD student in the Department of Psychiatry. My research project focuses on developing culturally appropriate tools for assessing frontal lobe functioning (executive functions and adaptive functioning) for children and adolescents in West Africa, as well as risk factors affecting cognition and mental well-being – Native Wisdom. I recently wrote a fun essay about some scientists that had inspired me which won an award, and following that award got interviewed by my department about some of my struggles combining the global perspectives I’ve gained from Cambridge with my unique local perspectives working in a LMIC country.

Cognitive functioning, brain injury, psychometrics, neurodevelopmental disorders, epidemiology of children’s mental health, global mental health, risk and resilience in children from developing countries, interventions in resource-poor settings
