Laura Panagi is a Research Associate at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge. She is interested in the complex relationships between physical and mental health over time. The overarching aim of her research is to encourage the implementation of targeted preventive and management interventions for mental health disturbances in high-risk populations. Her current project, entitled ‘Mental Health in Children with Long Term Physical Health Conditions: A longitudinal approach to facilitate early intervention’, aims to understand the mental health trajectory of children and young people with long-term health conditions over time, to establish the risk factors of poor mental health in this group of children and young people, and to understand access to mental health-related services by children and young people with long-term health conditions and mental health comorbidities. Laura holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Cyprus, an MSc in Stress Management and Health Promotion from the University of Athens, and a PhD in Health Psychology from the University College London.
