I am a research associate in the Department of Psychiatry. I am currently working on the Health Outcomes for young People throughout Education (HOPE) Study, which has been designed to assess the impact of special educational needs or disability (SEND) provision in schools on health outcomes for children and young people in the UK.
I have completed my PhD in which my research primarily focused on the exploration of resilience, mental health and youth engagement in young people aged 12-18. This research has resulted in a particular interest in working qualitatively with young people, more specifically those under the age of 16.
My other research interests include investigating the impact attending an Outdoor and Adventurous Activity residential can have on resilience, self-efficacy and mental health in young people.
