My research investigates the roles of impulsivity and compulsivity in the onset and maintenance of non-suicidal self-injury. In particular, I am interested in the nuanced relationship between these traits and the frequency, form, and functions of self-injury, and how they may fit into developmental pathways linking the behaviour to childhood maltreatment and emotion dysregulation. I first joined Dr Paul Wilkinson’s group as an MPhil student. Prior to that I completed my undergraduate degree in clinical psychology and child development back home in the United States.
